Methodik: Osteoporosegefährdete Patientinnen über 50 Jahre, welche die unfallchirurgische Ambulanz wegen einer distalen Radiusfraktur aufsuchen, werden automatisch in das Radius-Fractu-Status-Projekt eingeschleust. Neben einer Erhebung von Risikofaktoren wird zusätzlich eine quantitative Ultraschallmessung am Fersenbein durchgeführt.

Furthermore annual healthcare expenditures are increasing significantly as the consequence of the high rate of osteoporosis associated fractures. Methods: Female patients of 50 years of age or older with distal forearm fractures as an important risk for a future hip fracture are included in the Radius Fractu Status project.
