The park possesses an extremely significant valley with 24 lakes formed from glaciers, a landscape typical of the southern region of the Andes mountain range. There are also different strands of mountains branching from the Andes whose peaks decrease in altitude towards the east, and where the land softens and there are more undulating hills.
