Whereas, pending a mutually satisfactory solution, the Commission has requested Thailand for a provisional period of three months from the date of notification of the request for consultations to limit exports to the United Kingdom of products of category 16 to 12 500 pieces; whereas, pending the outcome of the requested consultations, quantitative limits identical to those requested of the supplier country should be applied provisionally to imports of the category of products in question;

Overwegende dat overeenkomstig het bepaalde in artikel 11, lid 5, van Verordening (EEG) nr. 3589/82 op 18 juli 1983 aan Thailand een verzoek om overleg ter kennis is gebracht; dat, in afwachting van een voor beide partijen bevredigende oplossing, de Commissie aan Thailand heeft verzocht om voor een voorlopig tijdvak van drie maanden vanaf de datum waarop het verzoek om overleg werd gedaan, de uitvoer van de produkten van categorie 16 naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk tot 12 500 stuks te beperken; dat, in afwachting van het resultaat van dit overleg, de invoer van de produkten van de betreffende categorie aan een voorlopige kwantitatieve beperking onderworpen dient te zijn die gelijk is aan die welke aan het leverende land werd gevraagd;
