وأحاط أعضاء المجلس علما بالآراء التي أعرب عنها في المجلس يوم 3 حزيران/ يونيه 2004 غيود بريانت، رئيس الحكومة الانتقالية الوطنية في ليبريا، وجاك كلاين، الممثل الخاص للأمين العام، بشأن الحاجة إلى رفع الجزاءات المتعلقة بالماس والأخشاب في أقرب وقت ممكن لتمكين الحكومة الانتقالية الوطنية في ليبريا من استخدام موارد البلد في تعميره وتنميته بما يعود بالفائدة على الشعب الليبري.

The members of the Council took note of the views expressed in the Council on 3 June 2004 by the Chairman of the National Transitional Government of Liberia, Gyude Bryant, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Jacques Klein, on the need to lift the diamond and timber sanctions as soon as possible to enable the National Transitional Government to use Liberia’s own resources for its reconstruction and development to the benefit of the Liberian people.

Los miembros del Consejo tomaron conocimiento de las opiniones expresadas en el Consejo el 3 de junio de 2004 por el Presidente del Gobierno Nacional de Transición de Liberia, Sr. Gyude Bryant, y el Representante Especial del Secretario General, Sr. Jacques Klein, sobre la necesidad de levantar las sanciones relativas a los diamantes y la madera lo antes posible a fin de que el Gobierno Nacional de Transición de Liberia pudiera utilizar sus propios recursos para su reconstrucción y desarrollo en beneficio del pueblo de Liberia.

Les membres du Conseil ont pris note des vues exprimées au Conseil le 3 juin 2004 par le Président du Gouvernement national de transition du Libéria, Gyude Bryant, et le Représentant spécial du Secrétaire général, Jacques Klein, sur la nécessité de lever les sanctions touchant les diamants et le bois d’œuvre dans les meilleurs délais afin de permettre au Gouvernement national de transition d’utiliser les propres ressources du Libéria aux fins de la reconstruction et du développement de ce pays dans l’intérêt de la population libérienne.

Члены Совета приняли к сведению мнения, выраженные в Совете 3 июня 2004 года Председателем Национального переходного правительства Либерии Джиюдом Брайантом и Специальным представителем Генерального секретаря Жаком Клайном, о необходимости скорейшего снятия санкций в отношении алмазов и древесины, с тем чтобы Национальное переходное правительство могло использовать собственные ресурсы Либерии для ее восстановления и развития на благо либерийского народа.
