لذلك نفهم لماذا تتمسك الكنيسة تمسكاً خاصاً بالحوار مع الفن ولماذا ترغب في أن يقوم، في زماننا، حلف جديد مع الفنانين، كما تمناه سلفي الموقّر بولس السادس في الخطاب المؤثِّر الذي وجّهه إلى الفنانين أثناء لقائه الخاص بهم يوم السابع من أيار 1964 في الكابيلا سستينا[17].

Man begreift also, warum die Kirche am Dialog mit der Kunst in besonderer Weise festhält und den Wunsch hat, daß in unserer Zeit ein neues Bündnis mit den Künstlern zustande komme, wie es mein ehrwürdiger Vorganger Paul VI. in seiner beschwörenden Ansprache an die Künstler während der Begegnung in der Sixtinischen Kapelle am 7. Mai 1964 wünschte.(

It is clear, therefore, why the Church is especially concerned for the dialogue with art and is keen that in our own time there be a new alliance with artists, as called for by my revered predecessor Paul VI in his vibrant speech to artists during a special meeting he had with them in the Sistine Chapel on 7 May 1964.(
