In diesem Aufsatz soll die These entwickelt werden, dass Esser bei der Durchführung seiner Sozialtheorie die beiden zentralen Bezugspunkte seiner theoretischen Konzeption aus den Augen verliert: einerseits die Vorstellung einer erklärenden Soziologie und andererseits das RREEMM-Modell eines unter Restriktionen handelnden, aber kreativen und findigen Akteurs.

This article attempts to show that Esser loses track of his two main reference points in the development of his social theory: on the one hand the model of an explanatory sociology and on the other hand the RREEMM-Modell of a creative and resourceful actor bounded by restrictions.

Cet article entend montrer qu’en construisant sa théorie Esser perd de vue les deux points de référence centraux de sa conception théorique: d’un côté l’idée d’une sociologie explicative et de l’autre le modèle RREEMM (Resourceful- Restricted- Evaluating- Expecting- Maximizing- Man) d’un acteur aux capacités d’action restreintes mais créatif et ingénieux.
