While the events surrounding the abrupt departure of President Aristide remain a matter of deep concern — particularly as they pertain to the constitutionality of the removal of democratically elected leaders — Barbados is committed to assisting the people of Haiti in the process of normalization, the search for a peaceful solution to the political crisis, the strengthening of democratic governance in the country and the provision of humanitarian assistance.

Aunque los acontecimientos que rodean a la repentina marcha del Presidente Aristide siguen causando profunda preocupación —especialmente porque tienen que ver con la constitucionalidad de la retirada de los dirigentes democráticamente electos—, Barbados está comprometido a ayudar al pueblo de Haití en el proceso de normalización, en la búsqueda de una solución pacífica a la crisis política, en el fortalecimiento de la gestión pública democrática en el país y en la prestación de asistencia humanitaria.
