A bearing support system for a piston and its connecting rod in which the bearing system supports the combined piston and connecting rod by only two bearings, a gas bearing at the power piston (or displacer) and a radially acting spring bearing at its connecting rod.

L'invention concerne un système de support de paliers pour un piston et sa bielle, dans lequel le système de paliers soutient le piston et la bielle combinés au moyen de deux paliers seulement, un palier à gaz au niveau du piston de puissance (ou du déplaceur) et un palier de ressort à action radiale au niveau de sa bielle.
