تخصيص المقاعد في المحكمة الدولية لقانون البحار وفقا لما تنص عليه الاتفاقية في هذا الصدد، شريطة ألا تشغل أي مجموعة إقليمية أقل من ثلاثة مقاعد؛ وسوف يُنتخب أعضاء المحكمة على النحو التالي:

The allocation of seats of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea shall be in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention, providing that no regional group will have fewer than three seats; the members of the Tribunal will be elected as follows:

La asignación de puestos en el Tribunal Internacional del Derecho del Mar se hará de conformidad con las disposiciones pertinentes de la Convención, siempre y cuando no haya ningún grupo regional que tenga menos de tres puestos; los miembros del Tribunal se elegirán de la siguiente manera:
