Vom EU-finanzierten THALAMOSS-Projekt entwickelte neue personalisierte Behandlungsverfahren für Patientinnen und Patienten mit Beta-Thalassämie könnten nun Leben retten, die Kosten im Gesundheitswesen senken und zu neuen Patenten für therapeutische Interventionen, wichtigen Innovationen in der Gentherapie und bei Genome Editing-Methoden hinführen.
