كما تقدمت حكومة العراق بمبادرة أخرى في رسالة وجهتها إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بتاريخ # آب/أغسطس # طالبته فيها بالتدخل لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وبريطانيا للكف عن إصرارهما غير المبرر للمشاركة في أعمال اللجنة الثلاثية من أجل فتح الطريق أمام عودة اجتماعات اللجنة بمشاركة الدول التي لديها ملفات مفقودين، وفي حالة إصرار هاتان الدولتان على المشاركة في الاجتماعات فقد طالبت حكومة العراق مشاركة ثلاث دول أخرى ذات موقع دولي محايد من طرفي المشكلة في الاجتماعات وهي الاتحاد الروسي والهند والصين

The Government of Iraq also proposed another initiative in a letter dated # ugust # addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. It requests his intervention with the United States of America and the United Kingdom so that they would desist from their unwarranted insistence on participating in the work of the Tripartite Commission so that its meetings could resume with the participation of those countries that actually had cases of missing persons

El Gobierno del Iraq también avanzó otra propuesta, en una carta dirigida al Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas el # de agosto de # ( # ), en la que exigía su intervención ante los Estados Unidos de América y el Reino Unido para que estos países dejasen de insistir injustificadamente en participar en la labor de la Comisión Tripartita, y para que se pudiese despejar el camino a la reanudación de las reuniones de la Comisión, con la participación de los Estados que tienen abiertos expedientes sobre desaparecidos

Dans une lettre datée du # août # le Gouvernement iraquien a prié le Secrétaire général de l'ONU d'intervenir auprès des États-Unis d'Amérique et du Royaume-Uni pour que ces pays renoncent à vouloir participer, de manière injustifiée, aux travaux de la Commission tripartite, ce qui permettrait aux pays qui possèdent des dossiers concernant des personnes disparues d'y prendre part
