Das Membransystem 200–300 Tage alter Zellen von Nitrobacter winogradskyi wurde elektronenmikroskopisch untersucht und mit dem unterschiedlich reaktivierter Bakterien verglichen. Gleichzeitig bestimmten wir die unterschiedlich reaktivierter Bakterien verglichen.

Inactive cells of Nitrobacter winogradskyi that had been kept in the absence of nitrite for 200 to 300 days were compared with reactivated cells with respect to their membrane system, activity of nitrite oxidation, assimilation of carbon dioxide, and intracellular concentrations of NAD, FAD and cytochromes c and a1. 130 days old cells exhibit increasing nitrite oxidation after one day of low activity, whereas 302 days old bacteria start oxidation but after 5 days.
