رجت اللجنة الفرعية لتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان في دورتها الثانية والخمسين التي عقدت في عام 2000 من الأمين العام أن يعد وثيقة عمل تتعلق بالانتهاكات الجماعية والصارخة لحقوق الإنسان التي تشكل جرائم ضد الإنسانية التي وقعت أثناء فترة الاستعمار وحروب الغزو والاستعباد، بما في ذلك الوسائل والمقترحات التي يمكن اعتمادها لتقديم تعويض لضحايا تلك الانتهاكات لإحياء ذكراهم (المقرر 2000/114).

At its fifty-second session in the year 2000, the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights requested the Secretary-General to prepare a working document relating to the mass and flagrant violations of human rights which constitute crimes against humanity and which took place during the colonial period, wars of conquest and slavery, including means and proposals which could be adopted in order to provide reparation to the victims of those violations and to honour their memory (decision 2000/114).

En su 52o período de sesiones, celebrado en 2000, la Subcomisión de Promoción y Protección de los Derechos Humanos pidió al Secretario General que preparara un documento de trabajo sobre las violaciones manifiestas y masivas de los derechos humanos que constituyen crímenes de lesa humanidad que se hayan producido durante el período colonial, de las guerras de conquista y de la esclavitud, incluyendo los medios y propuestas que se puedan adoptar para proporcionar reparación a las víctimas de esas violaciones y honrar su memoria (decisión 2000/114).

À sa cinquante‐deuxième session, en 2000, la Sous‐Commission de la promotion et de la protection des droits de l’homme a demandé au Secrétaire général d’élaborer un document de travail sur les violations flagrantes et massives des droits de l’homme constitutives de crimes contre l’humanité, qui se sont produites pendant l’ère coloniale, les guerres de conquête et l’esclavage, en incluant les moyens et propositions qui pourraient être adoptés afin d’assurer une réparation aux victimes de ces violations et d’honorer leur mémoire (décision 2000/114).

На своей пятьдесят второй сессии в 2000 году Подкомиссия по поощрению и защите прав человека просила Генерального секретаря подготовить рабочий документ, касающийся массовых и вопиющих нарушений прав человека, представляющих собой преступления против человечности и имевших место в колониальный период, период захватнических войн и рабства, включая меры и предложения, которые можно было бы принять для того, чтобы возместить ущерб, причиненный жертвам этих нарушений, и почтить их память (решение 2000/114).
