Die Standhaftigkeit in der Berufung ist in der Erinnerung an jene Liebkosung verwurzelt, die der Herr uns geschenkt und mit der er uns gesagt hat: „Komm, gehe mit mir!“ Und das ist es, was ich euch allen, die ihr euch Gott geweiht habt, rate: Wendet euch nicht zurück, wenn es Schwierigkeiten gibt; und wenn ihr zurückschauen wollt, dann möge es die Erinnerung an jenen Moment sein.

As he said, from the moment he spoke those words: “Mum, I would like to do what that man is doing”: that is the moment we are touched by the Holy Spirit. Perseverance in vocation is rooted in the memory of that tender caress extended to us by the Lord and through which he has said: “Come, come with me”.
