It was noted that the fiftieth anniversary of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and the fiftieth anniversary of human space flight would be celebrated in 2011, as the first meeting of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space had been convened on 27 November 1961.
