The invention relates to an electronic lamp ballast for operating at least one gas-discharge lamp (G1, G2). The electronic lamp ballast comprises a control circuit (IC2), which monitors a voltage potential applied to the input connection (NP) and, depending on the value of the voltage potential, operates the gas-discharge lamp (G1, G2) with or without preheating.
