� Palliative Betreuung wird entsprechend der WHO definiert als die aktive ganzheitliche Behandlung von Patienten, deren Krankheit auf kurative Behandlung nicht anspricht, wobei Schmerzen und andere Krankheitssymptome bekämpft werden und den Patienten und ihren Angehörigen psychologische, soziale und spirituelle Unterstützung gewährt wird.

� The definition of palliative care, based on the World Health Organization, is active total care of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment, namely by controlling pain and other symptoms of the disease and offering psychological, social and spiritual support to patients and their families.
