اللجنة المخصصة للسكان والتنمية هي الهيئة المسؤولة عن متابعة خطة عمل مدريد الدولية للشيخوخة، والمبادرات الإقليمية ذات الصلة الرامية إلى تنفيذها، لا سيما إعلان برازيليا لعام 2007، وميثاق سان خوسيه لحقوق كبار السن في أمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي الذي اعتمده المؤتمر الإقليمي الحكومي الدولي الثالث المعني بكبار السن في أمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي المعقود في سان خوسيه، من 8 إلى 11 أيار/مايو 2012، وهي أيضا الهيئة المسؤولة عن رصد مسألة الهجرة الدولية.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Population and Development is the body responsible for follow-up to the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, and the respective regional initiatives for its implementation, in particular the Brasilia Declaration adopted in 2007, and the San José Charter on the Rights of Older Persons in Latin America and the Caribbean adopted at the Third Regional Intergovernmental Conference on Ageing in Latin America and the Caribbean, held in San José, from 8 to 11 May 2012, as well as the body responsible to monitor the issue of international migration.

El Comité Especial sobre Población y Desarrollo es el órgano encargado de dar seguimiento regional al Plan de Acción Internacional de Madrid sobre el Envejecimiento y las respectivas iniciativas regionales para su implementación, en particular, la Declaración de Brasilia de 2007 y la Carta de San José sobre los derechos de las personas mayores de América Latina y el Caribe, aprobada en la tercera Conferencia regional intergubernamental sobre envejecimiento en América Latina y el Caribe, celebrada del 8 al 11 de mayo de 2012 en San José, así como el órgano encargado de dar seguimiento al tema de la migración internacional.

Le Comité spécial sur la population et le développement est l’organe chargé d’assurer le suivi du Plan d’action international de Madrid sur le vieillissement et de ses initiatives régionales respectives pour sa mise en œuvre, en particulier la Déclaration de Brasília de 2007 et la Charte de San José sur les droits des personnes âgées en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes, adoptée à la troisième Conférence régionale intergouvernementale sur le vieillissement en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes tenue à San José du 8 au 11 mai 2012, et chargé également d’assurer le suivi du thème de la migration internationale.
