( II বং. xvi, ৯) চয়তানে সদায়ে মানৱৰ অস্বাৰ্থপৰ উত্তম গুণৰ ওপৰত সন্দেহ কৰে আৰু ঈশ্বৰৰ অনুমতি আৰু তেওঁ নিৰ্দ্ধাৰিত কৰা পৰিসীমাৰ ভিতৰত চয়তানে তেওঁলোকক পৰীক্ষা কৰে । ’

With regard to Satans activities as outlined in the Bible book of Job, the Encyclopdia Britannica (1970) says: Satans task is to roam through the earth seeking out acts or persons to be reported adversely. his function thus is the opposite of that of the eyes of the Lord, which roam through the earth strengthening all that is good (II Chron. xvi, 9).
