On 17 June 2011 the Italian Government signed a memorandum of understanding with the Libyan National Transitional Council(1), stipulating the continuation of obligations emanating from the Treaty of Friendship, Partnership and Cooperation between the Italian Republic and the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.
