General Conference of transforming the Regional Center for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (CRESALC) into UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC), the Executive Board approved the bylaws and the financial regulatory provisions of the Institute.

En el marco de esta actividad de cooperación regional, UNESCO-IESALC firmó un convenio con la Asociación Colombiana de Universidades (ASCUN), institución encargada de recoger la experiencia del nuevo Centro Regional de Cooperación de Educación Superior para trabajar sobre la base de proyectos de cooperación universitaria y terciaria que fortalezcan los procesos de integración institucional en América Latina y el Caribe.
Within the framework of this regional cooperation, UNESCO-IESALC signed an agreement with the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN), which is responsible of collecting the experience of the new Regional Center for Cooperation in Higher Education to work on the basis of university and tertiary institutions cooperation projects that strengthen the processes of institutional integration in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Se distribuyeron 150 carteles sobre los PRIAA, elaborados por Action Aid y la Campaña Mundial por la Educación y algunos ejemplares de los resultados de la investigación en la que se fundamentan, a los Institutos Estatales de Educación de Adultos del país, a las 35 Unidades de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional que imparten programas de formación de educadores de este campo educativo, al Centro de Cooperación Regional para la Educación de Adultos en América Latina y el Caribe (CREFAL) y a instituciones de educación superior que realizan diversas acciones vinculadas con la educación de las personas jóvenes y adultas en México y América Latina.
150 posters of the benchmarks and a number of copies of the "Writing the Wrongs" publication were distributed to State Insti tutes of Education, to the 35 branches of the Universidad Pedagóg ica Nacional (carrying out literacy educator training in Mexico), to the Regional Centre for Adult Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (CREFAL) and to higher education institutes that carry out activities linked to the education of young people and adults in Mexico and Latin America.
