Under these objectives of the Port Foundation of Las Palmas to carry out actions aimed at professionalisation, momentum and encouraging the role of African women in the port area, ties of cooperation and collaboration have been established for over 5 years with the Association of Professional Women of the Port and Maritime Sector of the West and Central Africa. These actions have been reflected in the realisation of 2 seminars for Port Management and one for Port Logistics and providing customised training, design of its website and holding for the first time the first African and Spanish Port and Maritime Women Conference, held in Casablanca on 8th March 2010 and which was attended by over 200 representatives of African and Spanish Ports.
En el marco de estos objetivos de la Fundación Puertos de Las Palmas por el desarrollo de acciones dirigidas a la profesionalización, impulso y potenciación del papel de la mujer africana en el ámbito portuario, desde hace ya más de 5 años se vienen estableciendo estrechos Seminarios de Gestión Portuaria y uno de Logística Portuaria, así como impartición de formación personalizada, diseño de su página web y la realización por primera vez de la primera Jornada de la Mujer Portuaria y Marítima africana y española, que tuvo lugar en Casablanca el 8 de marzo de 2010 y que contó con la participación de más de 200 representantes de Puertos Africanos y Españoles.

More than 70 African women, directives of the port sector in their countries, have met in the auditorium of Casa África over the past three days, thanks to the traditional collaboration of the institution with the Ports Foundation of Las Palmas, which it supports in its work, launched in 2007, in the field of training women managers from the sector in the western and central coasts of Africa. Florentine Koidio, head of department at the Autonomous Port of Abidjan and representative of the Association of Professional Women Port Workers of the West and Central Coast of Africa, was one of those responsible for opening the meeting last Monday; together with Luis Ibarra, president of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, and Luis Padrón, director general of Casa África.
Más de 70 mujeres africanas, directivas del sector portuario en sus países, han ocupado en los últimos tres días el auditorio de Casa África, gracias a la tradicional colaboración de la institución con la Fundación Puertos de Las Palmas, a la que apoya en su labor, emprendida en el año 2007, en el ámbito de la formación de cuadros África, fue una de las responsables de dar comienzo al encuentro el pasado lunes, junto a Luis Ibarra, presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria de Las Palmas, y Luis Padrón, director general de Casa África.
