With the electron microscope three kinds of cells are found: a) clear, the most numerous (80%), with a big nucleus and nucleolus and a relatively small cytoplasm with a well-developped Golgi complex and ergastoplasm. b) dark (15%), with a denser cytoplasm and more mitochondria and c) ramified cells (5%) with numerous processes which envelope the other two cellular types, and which have poorly developed vacuolar system.
