The tour led to the release of a new compilation album, entitled Somewhere Back in Time, which included a selection of tracks from their 1980 eponymous debut to 1988's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, as well as several live versions from Live After Death.[146] The Somewhere Back in Time World Tour continued with two further legs in the US and Europe in the summer of 2008, during which the band used a more expansive stage-set, including further elements of the original Live After Death show.[147] With the sole UK concert taking place at Twickenham Stadium, this would be the first time the band would headline a stadium in their own country.[148] The three 2008 legs of the tour were remarkably successful; it was the second highest grossing tour of the year for a British artist.[149]
Vuoden 2007 syyskuussa Iron Maiden tiedotti julkaisevansa vuoden 1985 konserttitallenteensa Live After Deathin uudelleen DVD-formaatissa vuoden 2008 helmikuussa, jolloin yhtye aloitti myös Somewhere Back in Time World Tour -maailmankiertueensa.[68] Live After Death nousi listakärjeksi 12 maassa, ja se muun muassa ylitti platinamyynnin Yhdysvalloissa ja kultamyynnin Suomessa ja Britanniassa.
