The faculty is ever-mindful of its roots in the Reformed Protestant tradition as it has developed in the Netherlands and that is now embodied in the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN). Since 2000 the faculty has become a centre with links to other denominations or branches of the Protestant Christian tradition (independent Dutch Reformed, Mennonites, Baptists, Pentecostals, and Evangelicals), which have affiliated themselves with the faculty while retaining their own distinctive identities.
Met blijvende aandacht voor haar wortels in de gereformeerde protestantse traditie zoals die zich in Nederland heeft ontwikkeld en in de huidige Protestantse Kerk in Nederland (PKN) vorm heeft gekregen, is de faculteit sinds 2000 een centrum geworden waaraan ook andere denominaties of stromingen van de protestants-christelijke traditie zich hebben verbonden met behoud van de eigen identiteit (Hersteld Hervormden, Doopsgezinden, Baptisten, de pinksterbeweging en evangelicals).
