With regard to Commissioner Barnier's answer to question P-0766/04(1) on the Llubí-Crestaxt-Pollença watercourse project on the island of Majorca, Spain, clarification is needed as regards the following point: a change in the local Balearic regional government as a result of the elections in June last year brought the construction of the northern stretch of the transversal artery to a standstill and a modification was proposed that fundamentally alters the aims of the original Llubí-Crestaxt (Sa Pobla) project co-financed by the European Union.
Als reactie op het antwoord van commissaris Barnier op mijn vraag P-0766/04(1) over het project voor een leidingensysteem Llubí-Crestaxt-Pollença, op het eiland Mallorca (Spanje), wens ik het volgende te verduidelijken: Door veranderingen in de regionale regering van de Balearen als gevolg van de verkiezingen van vorig jaar juni is de aanleg van het noordelijke deel van de transversale leiding (de "arteria transversal") tot stilstand gekomen en is een wijziging voorgesteld die niet aansluit bij de doelstellingen van het oorspronkelijke project Llubí-Crestaxt (Sa Pobla), dat medegefinancierd wordt door de Europese Unie.
