‘Térmicas No’ (No power stations), an Extremadura-based federation of protest groups, has produced information about three projected combined cycle thermal power stations to be built within a radius of 7 km in the Mérida region (Badajoz, Spain), namely: La Zarza (400 MW, to be operated by the Swiss electricity company EGL), Alange (850 MW, to be operated by the Spanish company Iberdrola), and Valverde de Mérida (1.1 GW, a joint project being developed by Advanced Power and Siemens).
