246 Päätöslauselman 1390 (2002) johdanto-osassa turvallisuusneuvosto muun muassa tuomitsi kategorisesti 11.9.2001 toteutetut terrori-iskut ja ilmoitti päättäväisyytensä estää kaikki terroriteot; se totesi, että Osama bin Laden ja Al-Qaida-verkosto jatkoivat toimintaansa kansainvälisen terrorismin tukemiseksi; se tuomitsi al-Qaida-verkoston ja sitä lähellä olevat terroristijärjestöt niiden toteuttamien lukuisten rikollisten terroritekojen vuoksi, joiden tarkoituksena oli tappaa useita viattomia siviilejä ja tuhota omaisuutta, ja se toisti, että kansainväliset terroriteot uhkaavat kansainvälistä rauhaa ja turvallisuutta.
246 In the preamble to Resolution 1390 (2002), the Security Council formally condemned, inter alia, the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, expressing its determination to prevent all such acts; noted that Usama bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda network continued to support international terrorism; condemned the Al-Qaeda network and associated terrorist groups for the multiple criminal terrorist acts they had committed, aimed at causing the deaths of numerous innocent civilians and the destruction of property, and reaffirmed further that acts of international terrorism constituted a threat to international peace and security.EurLex-2 EurLex-2
