22 Having regard to the foregoing, the answer to the third and fourth questions is that Article 5(3) of Regulation No 261/2004 must be interpreted as meaning that a situation where, as in in the case before the referring court, an airport’s set of mobile boarding stairs collides with an aircraft cannot be categorised as ‘extraordinary circumstances’ exempting the air carrier from its obligation to pay the passengers compensation in the event of a long delay to a flight operated by that aircraft.
22 Mot bakgrund av vad som anförts ovan ska den tredje och den fjärde frågan besvaras enligt följande. Artikel 5.3 i förordning nr 261/2004 ska tolkas så, att en händelse, såsom i det nationella målet, att en rörlig flygplatstrappa stöter emot ett flygplan inte kan kvalificeras som en ”extraordinär omständighet” som fritar lufttrafikföretaget från skyldigheten att betala kompensation till passagerare när flygningen med nämnda plan blev kraftigt försenad.EurLex-2 EurLex-2
