The ENVEFT national survey was the first population survey conducted as part of the Promotion of Gender Equality and Prevention of Violence against Women project carried out by a partnership including the National Office for the Family and the Population (ONFP), the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Family, Children and Seniors, the Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID) and the Centre for Arab Women Training and Research (CAWTAR). It was the most important step taken in phase 2 of that joint project.

To help women emerge in the oPt's economic and political life, UN Women's Fund for Gender Equality is working with NGO, the Bisan Centre for Research and Development and its partner organizations to develop and remodel cooperatives for women into settings where they can meet, train and work with the approval of their families and communities.
