Such a policy gives rise to at least two problems: (i) it focuses even more migratory pressure on Member States that are already facing d heavy burdens, to the extent that it would no longer be viable for Member States that need Frontex most to host a Frontex mission; (ii) it is harmful to the people saved, as they would have to be transported all the way to the country hosting the Frontex mission, rather than to the place that would be most appropriate in the circumstances (usually the nearest place of safety).
