Hosea 7:14 says this about Jehovah’s displeasure with his people: “They did not call to me for aid with their heart, although they kept howling on their beds.”
Scientists believe that dissonant sounds, for example, brass or wind instruments played very loud, may remind us of animal howls in nature and therefore create a sense of irritation or fear.
The role that we collectively play in response to these howling gales will determine the contours of the post-crisis world and the relevance of this institution in that world.
