Daarbij komt nog dat de banken vooral belangen hebben in Hongkong, Singapore en China, de minst getroffen, gezondste en best beheerde landen dus, en dat de voorwaardelijke steun van het Internationaal Monetair Fonds juist naar andere landen is gegaan, zoals Thailand, Indonesië en Zuid-Korea. Daarom zeg ik dat de crisis "manageable" is, zoals u in uw moedertaal zou zeggen, wat nog iets anders is dan dat ik luchtkastelen zou bouwen.
